Good Morning

Yesterday was a very full day.  We enjoyed attending one of the classes on Romans 14:1-13, 15:5&6.  The topic of discussion was be careful in your judgement of others and there is division in a church when you argue about unimportant things and can not accept another person's opinion.

We continued to work on the building taking out old and roted wood and cleaning things up.  It's  amazing to see the progress and hard work that some of the Nehemiah men put into this project.

First Lady Paulette and the Cedarbrook women went to lunch at Emeril's.  Very beautiful an unique place.  The food was great.

Last night after church we had cake & punch to celebrate the April birthdays pictured below.

It's so hard to believe that we leave tomorrow morning.  Seems like we just got here.
Please pray for the men of Nehemiah, the staff and Living Witness Church.
God Bless!

Tuesday's Happenings

We started our morning with devotions at 6:50 a.m., then breakfast and Bible study with the men. Deacon Tillman led us in a study of "Polution sin/sin in the camp" from the book of Joshua.  Deacon's teaching touched us all.  All of us battle with sin everyday.
Deacon asked us to come up and sing "May the Circle be Unbroken" and Diane and Krystal gave them their best performance.
We worked on the apartments for 2 hours, had lunch and then took a couple of hours to do some sight seeing in the ninth ward, we also visited the memorial for Katrina.
Here's proof we're working hard and getting the building ready for plumbing, wiring and sheetrock.

A group pictue after the afternoon class.  Some of the Nehemiah men were chosen to speak on what prompted them to come into the program, how they would stay connected and what were there plans after they finished the program.

Donna and Dave just couldn't resist dancing to The Four Season's.

We thank God for a safe and productive day.  It's time to do our evening devotions.  Pray for a good and restful night's sleep.

Monday Evening

We had a very full day today, filled with Bible study, classes with the Nehemiah men, work on the apartments and a prayer service this evening.
The Nehemiah men have been putting new siding on the building and framing for the 3 apartments is nearly done.
Today we worked on cleaning things up and removing old pumbing pipes and gas lines.

Jennifer helped out in the kitchen today and is proudly showing the corn bread she made.
Pray for a good night's rest for everyone and we'll be in touch tomorrow.
Goodnight from Cedarbrook South.

Get out the ladders and hammers - we're ready to build!

Sunday morning we started out with Sunday School at 9 a.m.  We love the open forum and interaction as we study the scripture.  It's such a blessing to join together and discuss and learn God's word.

Praise and worship followed Sunday School. Minister Kainta delivered an inspirational message on hope.
Pictured below is Minister John, Pastor Pierre and Minister Kainta,  Beautiful men in Christ.
It's amazing how fast time goes by when you're worshiping God.  The message, music and praise is so uplifting.
After church we walked down to the French Quarters, had a great lunch and walked through the open market.  There was a lot of music going on with lots of people as they were having a festival.  We went in and saw the St. Louis Cathedral.  The paintings and stained glass are so beautiful.
Lots of souvenirs to choose from - seems like hats are a big thing.

The team at Jackson Square.

We ended the evening with Pastor and First Lady Paulette joining us for desert.  After that we caught a trolly ride home.  We had some incredible God siteings.

This morning our day began with devotions, breakfast and Bible study.  Now we're off to our building project.  Pray for safety.

We're here!

We had a great trip to New Orleans.  Arrived around 5:30 p.m. and were greeted with open arms and big hugs.  Everyone says hi from Cedarbrook South.  We had a great devotional last night on the Lord's prayer.  We all look forward to church service this morning.  After church we'll be heading to Jackson Square and the French Quarter for site seeing and dinner.

Friday we arrived early enough to walk in the park and tour the Arch.  Beautiful weather!
